My Business Mentor is Only 6 Years Old (Part II)

So now three months later, Dominic is still giving massages and expecting money in return for his services. As a matter of fact, he was sick with strep throat and had to stay home from school. Well that day I had to take his grandfather to the doctor so he had to stay with his grandmother. When I returned to pick him up he showed me a dollar bill. He had given his grandmother a massage and she paid him.
Even on a sick day, he was working!
Before leaving he remembered to tell his grandparents that he lost his second tooth. You guessed it, more money.
So let me put this into perspective because I know what some of you are thinking.
* He’s 6 years old, of course someone would give him money.
* He’s cute and has admirable traits of course someone would give him money.
So here’s the truth and it applies to all of us no matter how old we are.
1. It is not what Dominic is DOING that brought him the money, it is how he is BEING. He is being a person of service.
2. Dominic also expected to get paid for the service he rendered. Once done with his client, he jumped in front of them with his hand out and waited for payment. Even if only a penny. (Which I don’t think ever was)
3. He is grateful for every coin or dollar bill he gets. He usually gives the client a big hug and smile and of course a “Thank You.”
4. He knows exactly how much money he has in his wallet and in his bank and he visualizes himself making enough to fill his baseball bank.
5. Dominic is creative and finds ways to increase his savings. Last month there was a bake sale at our church. I gave each of my kids a dollar for a snack. All 4 of his older brothers and sisters spent the whole dollar on baked goods. Dominic, on the other hand, bought a cupcake for .50 and pocketed the change, and added it to his bank when he got home.
Once again, think of these traits and how they relate to business. Your business. How can you use these principles to make them work for you? Part III of this story will relate to the Law of Attraction and how Dominic uses this law to work for him without even knowing it.

That’s right, my son Dominic, the baby of my 5 children, is the youngest entrepreneur I have met. You see, he has effectively found ways to make money for his services.
So what are his services, you ask…
Let me start back to when he was 5 and he realized that people wanted to give him money. He was washing himself at the hose (we were on summer vacation and had just come back from the beach). He was the last one at the hose as the family had just made their way up to the few steps into the pool area.
A few minutes later, he runs up the steps with two dollars in his hand and a smile from ear to ear. Well, my first thought was he swindled someone, you see, he was always asking for money to put into his bank. But this time it was different, I looked perplexed as he explained that he washed a few beach chairs and the feet of two girls at the hose. They, in turn, gave him money for his delightful service.
So for Christmas, Santa brought him a baseball bank that cheers and counts the coins as they go in. What did he do Christmas day? He asked family members for coins so he could show them how his bank worked. Of course, those coins were now part of his savings. He made $7.34 that Christmas.
A week later was his 6th birthday. Once again our family celebrated. Amazingly, all on his own, he realized he needed to be a little more savvy to fill that bank this time. So what did he do next?
This little entrepreneur began giving massages for money. He would jump behind the person and just begin giving a great massage. He wouldn’t ask if they wanted one, he let his hands do the trick. Once he was done, he put his hand out for any donation they were willing to give. And they all gave, even if they borrowed from someone else. He then ran and placed all the coins in his bank.
Think about how this relates to business.
